PC shot dead ‘didn’t have chance’, colleague says

A police constable shot dead in the line of duty “didn’t have a chance” to defend himself, according to a colleague who witnessed the tragic event.

The incident took place during a routine traffic stop on the busy highway yesterday afternoon. The constable, who has been identified as Officer John Smith, was approaching the vehicle when he was suddenly shot multiple times by the driver.

Officer Smith’s colleague, Officer Jane Doe, was in shock as she recounted the events. “It happened so fast, John didn’t even have a chance to draw his weapon. The driver just started firing without warning,” she said.

The suspect fled the scene and is currently at large. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the individual responsible for the senseless act of violence.

Officer Smith is survived by his wife and two young children. A memorial service will be held in his honor next week.
